I Launched Guided Training (today)

It's with great honor and relief that I finally launch Guided Training. A new offering from Boss Strength that is cheaper and more efficient than full time personal training (even though that's still an option).

We Talked About BodyWeight Exercise
In episode 9, I addressed a viewer question of whether not bodyweight exercise at home is enough to get in good shape.
Personally, I'm an avid proponent of the gym, simply because the equipment you have available to you is so vast, meaning progressive overload can be achieved with ease. When using bodyweight workouts, however, practicing progressive overload becomes much more difficult to avchieve, unless you get crafty with your ideas.

In this week's research review, I discuss new research that indicates heat exposure, might actually help the muscle building process along.
As it turns out, heat initiates expression of "Heat Shock Proteins" that actually stimulate the protein synthesis pathway in a similar way as exercise. Will it give you steroid-like results? Probably not, but it might be used in a similar fashion to supplements. If used consistently and correctly over time, using the sauna in conjunction with your training may benefit you.
