My name is Sam Biesack. About ten years ago, I took my first step into Rich's Gym of Minooka, IL and from that moment forward, I was hooked. When I reflect on my life in the past, present and future, a great majority of the memories consist of training in one way or another. Coming from a great gym, I feel that I've been given a great background when it comes to training technique and ethic. When I moved to college, my perspective on life completely changed and along with it came my perspective on training. I realized that there is an endless amount of knowledge available to those that look for it, so needless to say, I started looking.
I am always striving to gain knowledge in various fields of science and philosophy, but most of all, the field of exercise science pertaining to strength, muscle hypertrophy, and nutrition. My hope is to aid others in wading through the tall grass of assumptions and fallacies when it comes to training and nutrition. In order to attain an optimal physique with optimal strength capabilities, one must train in a way that is optimal for achieving these goals.
Along my path, I have had some incredible mentors, and without them, I would not be where I am today. It is my hope that I can be a mentor to others in the same way. Science and training is my life and I truly hope that I can inspire others to join me on this journey. The training community needs those that care and are willing to search for the facts, because without these people, this lifestyle is nothing.
I hold a Master's in Exercise and Nutrition Science from the University of Tampa and a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience from St. Ambrose University. I also am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Through the NSCA. During my time at the University of Tampa, I had the privilege to research under some great individuals such as Dr. Jacob Wilson, Dr. Carlos Ugrinowitsch, Dr. Eduardo De Souza and Dr. Angela Poff. In addition to the prior, I have nearly ten years of resistance training experience and I consistently study research in the field of exercise and nutrition.
Boss Strength (originally Optimal Living) founded in 2014, was created with one intention: bring people the latest science in a way they can apply it to their own lives.
The health and fitness industry is saturated with some good, but a lot of bad information ranging from people selling plans to "fix" your body in two weeks, to supplement companies trying to sell you things that have no evidence behind them.
Our number one goal at Boss Strength is to provide sound information that you can carry with you for the rest of your life and hopefully, share with others. At the end of the day, we want you to be successful in your body transformation goals, but we also want you to sustain your transformation after you've achieved it.
We believe that if you are receptive to the information we provide and can begin to understand this information at a fundamental level, you'll not only transform your physique, but your whole life.
